Rugby League betting latest: Patriotic punters are backing England to overcome short-priced favourites Australia in Saturday’s Gilette Four Nations final at Elland Road.
Tony Smith’s men are 7/2 with Sky Bet to be victorious, while the Kangaroos, who defeated the English 26-16 in the Group stage two weeks ago, are 1/6 favourites to lift the Four Nations title and are asked to give up a 12 point start on the handicap at 10/11.
Sky Bet’s rugby league betting expert, Dave Sykes, said: “Australia have been the better backed team by far ante-post but money is now starting to come for England, who have improved with every game and are not without a chance with a vibrant home support behind them at Elland Road.”
Last weekend saw Kyle Eastmond open the tryscoring against the New Zealanders in England’s impressive 20-12 victory and the talented Saints youngster is 14/1 to repeat the feat on Saturday. Australia’s Greg Inglis, who could well prove to be the difference between the two sides, is 10/1 co-favourite in the first tryscorer market.
Sky Bet also make the Melbourne Storm centre 4/5 favourite to win the prestigious Golden Boot award, which will be voted for after Saturday’s final.
