Inventor has been introduced at 33/1 for the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle betting by Sky Bet after making a winning hurdling debut at Ascot.
Donald McCain’s bargain buy, who cost just 15,000gns at the Horses in Training sales last month, caused a 14/1 shock when produced late to reel in King Olav, with odds-on Manyriverstocross only third.
Alan King’s disappointing 1-2 favourite was conceding 5lb to the winner and second, but found little when asked in the testing ground and has been eased to 33/1 from 20s by Sky Bet for the Supreme Novices’ betting at Cheltenham in March.
Matt Doyle, Sky Bet’s horse racing betting spokesman, said: ‘Although the winner could be a real money-spinner for shrewd connections, he will have to make rapid strides over hurdles to shake up Dunguib at the top of the Festival market.
Supreme Novices’ Hurdle, Sky Bet betting:
5/2 Dunguib, 12 Rite Of Passage, 16 Sweeps Hill, 20 Lidar, Some Present, Loosen Your Load, 25 Bellvano, 33 Manyriverstocross, Inventor
